This elegant tanzanite dewdrop necklace is absolutely lovely.
 
Each dainty necklace is handmade in my Somerset studio using 15 natural tanzanite beads and a classic 18in (45cm) sterling silver trace chain, finished with a bolt ring clasp and jump ring. The total length of the necklace is 20in (50cm) including beads.
 
The beautiful semi-precious tanzanite beads are a striking shade of cornflower blue and each bead is approximately 3mm x 1.5mm in size.
 
Tanzanite is the rare blue/purple variety of the mineral zoisite and is one of the most desired gems in the world. It is noted for its remarkably strong trichroism: its ability to exhibit three different colours when viewed from three different directions, appearing sapphire blue, violet, and burgundy depending on crystal orientation.
